We have developed 720p HD video decoding applications for Android that runs on OMAP3530/OMAP3430 platforms.  The video decoding can be used for MID and netbook products as well as celphone if needed.  I would to know if there are other applications that can use 720p video deocding capability on OMAP3530/OMAP3430.  Any comments?

Android and 720p would usually mean the netbook and cellphone type products as you mention, though this could be expanded to other similar applications such as GPS devices, dedicated media players, etc. though you could argue that those fit in one of the MID/netbook/cellphone categories. A few other applications that come to mind would be interactive digital signage, security applications, and embedded media players (such as in flight entertainment).

Essentially anywhere that you would want an interactive GUI and high resolution video, the possibilities are endless since this sort of thing is everywhere these days.

    Hi Bob

Can you use hardware codec through TI codec engine in Android?

How can you link built library by TI toolchain with Android toolchain?

    Hi CY,

Our codecs can be used for Codec Engine and for Android.  Once TI has Codec Engine to support Android, the codec can used.

This link has our android dmeo on Beagle board http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdnDpH3543Q

    Hi Bob

    the demo is very fantastic.

Is Codec Engine  from TI support,  where can I download android TI codec engine?

does your Android use only /dev/graphic/fb0 or need to use fb1 to play 720P video?

And another question is your codec use hardware decodec/encode?

welcome you to contact me with email: cywu98@gmail.com

    Thanks
