Linux OS in running on MPU while SYS/BIOS OS is running on DSP. The Camera ISP and Display subsystems are controlled by the DSP. There are two cameras in the system. The other one is PAL camera while the other one in NTSC camera. When switching between the cameras, the video format of the TVout is changed accordingly, and hence, we must always reset the Video encoder in between.

However, there is a problem with the Video encoder reset (no matter whether it is cold or warm). We can never be sure in which order it starts to produce odd/even field interrupts. On display controller, we are updating the Video layer 2 DMA base registers VID2_BA0 and VID2_BA1 on EVSYNC_ODD interrupt. If we are lucky in the Video encoder reset, the field output order is as expected and the resulting video is perfectly smooth. However, if we are unlucky in the reset, odd and even fields are taken from different frames resulting in jerky movement in the video. It looks to us as if the DMA base registers were updated on EVSYNC_EVEN interrupt instead of EVSYNC_ODD interrupt. The fields remain in sync or out of sync until the next reset.

The question is whether it is possible that the mapping between odd/even field output and EVSYNC_ODD/EVSYNC_EVEN interrupts changes and how we can observe this situation?

Garbled Display When Running X with DRI and FlipChain Enabled

Hi,

I am developing a system with am3505 and we have tvp5150am1 decoder. It seems that works well (verified with osciloscope). We are having problems with vpfe-capture because when we try to see image, It does not sample anything, but we can see a gray square. We also use the TPS65950 for USB, in device mode.

When the board is running Linux, RNDIS connection works well. If we run WinCE with the BSP from TI/Adeneo, we get random disconnects, using either RNDIS or ActiveSync/Windows Mobile. Sometimes the board can recover and reconnect, other times unplugging and plugging in the usb cable again works, and often we have to reboot to get usb up and running..

BeagleBoard seems to have solved this issue for some revisions by adding a larger capacitor on VBUS, which is already present in our design. Since Linux doesn't have this issue I'm leaning towards a problem with the drivers or settings in the BSP.

We don't seem to be the only ones with this issue but so far I haven't found any solution so I'm hoping that someone can share their experience. Usually when we get a disconnect, the driver reports a "Reset interrupt" (along with a SOF interrupt). I'm not sure if the interrupt causes the disconnect or if it's the other way around and I don't understand why we don't have the same issue when running Linux.

TPS65950:Noisy Audio when i play sine wave file

Hi All,

I'm developing an image processing application using Codec Engine. For improving perfomance I think it would be good to use DSP cache. I would like to copy buffer from DDR2 memory to DSP cache, do some processing with this buffer, and return new data to another buffer allocated in DDR memory. As far as I can see BCACHE API is what I need. But I don't quite understand how to use this API for my purposes. What functions and on what sequence do I need to invoke them? Some example codes would be appreciated.

I was wondering what needs to be changed in the psp to enable the EXP_CAM (looking at the EVM hardware user guide there is a switch to enable the expansion connector instead of the TVP5146)?

I'm using OMAP3530 and I'm trying read from a CompactFlash. I would know where the data read are stored. The manual of OMAP3530
indicate that the read access is achieved if I read the register GPMC_NAND_DATA_i(i=3, Chip Select = 3).
I configure the configuration registers of GPMC and the configuration registers of the pads. Of course, the CS3 is activated and others CS are off.
The value of the GPMC_NAND_DATA_3 and of the all of the CS3 space address is 0x008B008B. 0x008B008B is an address of the CS0 space address, and if I read this address an abort appears.
I don't know where the data read are stored.

             I am using CM-T3530 Processor with Linux kernel 3.0.68 (Kernel is patched with CM-T3730 patch file) which is avalible in CompuLab websit. I have configured the Linux kernel with OMAP3 Camera support option. Now i want to use the camera in my application using V4l2 sample application. I am going to use the camera ISP interface.

The Sensor configuration is,

        The camera sensor (Sony ICX659ALA) is connected to the AFE (Analog Front End) chip. We are using FPGA for generating the HSYNC, VSYC and PXL_CLK for getting the inputs from image sensor. The FPGA is continuously reading the frames from the sensor after power-on the unit. The captured analog signals are converted to Digital signal by AFE chip. Finally the digital signal is given to the ISP data lines. I don't have any driver interface to control the Image sensor. But the captured raw data is directly given to the ISP data lines[0-11]. Also i have verified the data lines. The digital data is coming from the AFE chip.

CCDC Register Configuration is,

ISP CTRL : 0x20210350
ISPCCDC_SYN_MODE : 0x204a0
ISPCCDC_COLPTN : 0x0
ISPCCDC_BLKCMP : 0x0
ISPCCDC_FPC : 0x0
ISPCCDC_FMTCFG : 0x4000
ISPCCDC_LSC_CONFIG : 0x6600
ISPCCDC_CLAMP : 0x10
ISPCCDC_PIX_LINES : 0x0
ISPCCDC_HD_VD_WID : 0x0
ISPCCDC_CFG : 0x0
ISPCCDC_REC656IF : 0x0
ISPCCDC_SDR_ADDR : 0x0
ISPCCDC_HSIZE_OFF : 0x480
ISPCCDC_SDOFST : 0x0
ISPCCDC_FMT_HORZ : 0x0
ISPCCDC_FMT_VERT : 0x0
ISPCCDC_VP_OUT : 0x0

Now as per camera usage procedure, i have created the pipeline in the following method,

root@cm-t3730:/#media-ctl -r -l '"OMAP3 ISP CCDC":1->"OMAP3 ISP CCDC output":0[1]'

root@cm-t3730:/#media-ctl -f '"OMAP3 ISP CCDC":1 [SGRBG10 4096x4096]'

The path is created successfully. After that i am trying to read the RAW data (12- bit) from the CCDC memory using the capture_mmap application (V4l2 Sample Applications).

root@cm-t3730:/# ./capturer_mmap

But it is giving the following error,

WARNING: "pci_bus_read_config_dword" [/home/fernando/kernel-3.7/stable-kernel/ignore/ti-sdk-pvr/Graphics_SDK/GFX_Linux_KM/services4/3rdparty/linux_drm/drm.ko] undefined!

And when i try to init the sgx system, i get this when it tries to insert the drm.ko module:

[ 2549.671997] drm: Unknown symbol pci_bus_read_config_dword (err 0)

I tried to remove some defines regarding PCI on drm.ko makefile, but it brought a lot of errors.

Is there someone that successfully built and used the SGX with x11 support on newer kernels?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

I have a Rev C board and I have enabled options in alsamixer and been able to hear audio from a file and through my Line In by enabling Loopback modes. But i'm having problems when I try to run "arecord" from the jack. All I get is a blank recording. Even though when loopback mode is enabled I can hear my audio from the Jack.
We have just got a OMAP35x EVM board to evaluate. I have it running in CCSv5 using a XDS510 USB with the omap3530 gel files.

I have a couple of questions fistly in the Gel files it sets the system clock as 19.2MHz but the clock on the board is 26MHz so is this incorrect in the Gel file? I have changed it and it does not effect the small bench mark program I am running therefor I assume it aslso does not change the clock speed of the processor so what is it doing?

Secondly by decault the processor clock seems to be set as 330MHz. I want to run it at 720MHz. So I started by halfing the DPLL_DIV_VALUE divider and then doubling the nL3Div divider to keep the L3 clock at at 166MHz. This stops it working, the program is loaded but with this error in the console

"Cortex_A8_0: Trouble Setting Breakpoint with the Action "Finish Auto Run" at 0x8005baf4: Error 0x20000008/-1066 Severe Error during: Break Point, Cannot set/verify breakpoint at 0x8005BAF4"

it does not jump to main as usual and seems to be disconnected from the device ("disconect from device" in run menu is grayed out), when I click connect it gives the following error

"Error connecting to the target: Error 0x80000244/-1178 Fatal Error during: Register, Initialization, OCS, The target does not have a CPU clock. ".

This is the info printed when the modified Gel file is loaded:

Cortex_A8_0: GEL Output: OMAP 32K Watchdog Timer is disable

Can anybody suggest what I am doing wrong in changing the CPU frequency of the ARM and why changing he clock from 19.2MHz (which I belive is wrong) to 26MHz has no effect?

Well I'm working with a Beagleboard-xM rev. C (if need more detail is here: http://beagleboard.org/static/BBxMSRM_latest.pdf) and with an host pc with Ubuntu 11.04 64bit. My aim is to use the DSP core to accelerate the opencv feature extraction algorithm.

Well, after several attempts I build an Angstrom base-image with ti-codec-engine and OpenCV-2.2 libs using the OpenEmbedded & bitbake tools.

The result is:

I can cross-compile an application (i.e. nano) from my host pc to ARM on BB-xM and it works fine

I can cross-compile an opencv application (i.e. image-converter) from my host pc to ARM on BB-xM and it works fine

I can load dsplink, cmem and lpm_omap3530 modules without error or warning, execute provided examples (like messagegpp, ...) and all works fine

After building and installing ti-c6accel-1_01_00_03-r102c in BB-xM I tryed to launch

./c6accel_app

and all test are ok.

Now, all examples/test that I tryed are successed but how can I run the opencv algorithm from the DSP?

Hope I've been clear.

OMAP3530/DM3730 DPLL4 Settings

Hi,

I work on DM3730 processor and DPLL clock settings for uart3 module. Some values about my boards are:

OSC_SYS_CLK                         = 26 MHz

SYS_CLK = OSC_SYS_CLK / 2 = 13 MHz

According to Figure 3-61. Common CM Source-Clock Controls on DM3730 Technical Referance Manual:

Setup CM_CLKSEL2_PLL, which sets up M and N for DPLL4. =  M = 576, N = 6

Setup CM_CLKSEL3_PLL, which sets up M2 for DPLL4          = M2 = 13

So my PER_48M_FCLK is 48 MHz. Then with "Baud rate = (functional clock/16)/N" formula, my divisor value is 26 for 115200 baudrate. But this setup only works 57600 baud rate with upper PLL settings.

My other question: I use external oscillator (TPS65950) with 26 MHz and selected sys_boot[6] is 1(for using of an external square clock source). It doesn't work correctly(upper problem occurs). Then I selected sys_boot[6] is 0. But it also doesn't work correctly. Moreover, these 2 setup configurations show same behavior(57600 baud problem).

What do you think about my problems?

Regards,

I try to boot my BeagleBoard xM Rev.C from an NFS server which is running on an Ubuntu 10.04 host.

I am able to mount the NFS into an Angstrom Linux on the BeagleBoard so i think the NFS server should work just fine.

My bootargs in the file uEnv.txt are:

serverip=192.168.0.2
ipaddr=192.168.0.9
netmask=255.255.255.0
gatewayip=192.168.0.1
hostname=beagleboard
nfsdevice=usb0:off
usbethaddr=6E:58:95:1B:82:65
optargs=mem=99M@0x80000000 mem=384M@0x88000000
nfsargs=setenv bootargs console=tty02,115200n8 mpurate=1000 ${optargs} ip=dhcp nfsroot=192.168.0.2:/home/kli/rootfs root=/dev/nfs rw rootwait
uenvcmd=echo Initializing net ...; dcache off; usb start; echo Loading kernel ...; nfs ${loadaddr} 192.168.0.2:/home/kli/rootfs/boot/uImage ; echo Booting from nfs ...; run nfsargs; bootm ${loadaddr}

When i boot the BeagleBoard i get the log:

We have a custom platform based on DM3730.

After adding TWL 4030 power scripts to enable OMAP deep sleep (to achieve lower suspend power numbers), we are able to push OMAP to low power state and VDD1 and VDD2 to zero volts. OMAP resumes fine from suspend on power on event from PMIC - TPS65930. However we need to press the power button twice which means OMAP or PMIC not detecting the first event after suspend. When it resumes, everything is fine. But we do not understand every time where first power ON event lost. Any kind of information to help debugging is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have found the simple video capture utility in t3530-linux/utilities/capture in the path. In this example, the usage menu containing the following options,

-d | --device name Video device name [/dev/video]
-h | --help Print this message
-m | --mmap Use memory mapped buffers
-r | --read Use read() calls
-o | --output Capture to file [file].

Please mention how to run the sample application in my board (CM-T3530). Also i want to know the /dev/video device and capture file purpose. My assumption is, the video device for displaying the image and capture file for capturing the image. Also which device i want to use for capturing the image. kindly send me the information.

Thanks
