It appears that the instructions for installing JAVA that appear on TI's Andriod Developer Guide are no longer valid. I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop and when I follow the procedure for adding Java on 32-Bit machines it says that the following command is "Invalid":
$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu lucid partner"
If I try to perform the upgrade ($ sudo apt-get update), I get an error that there is a malformed line in the source list /etc/apt/sources.list
Am I doing something wrong, or has the procedure for adding Java changed and TI has not updated the instructions?
Thanks,
Dan
The instuctions are valid at the time of the release, however we currently do not have the resources to verify setup on all ubuntu versions. Our team uses ubuntu 10.04 LTS are recommends the same to our users too.
We suggest that you refer to the AOSP itself for the latest setup instructions: http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
