I have a problem and I hope you will be able to help me.

So I am working with an OMAP3530 and tried to make it boot on the MMC. But it fail. It display this message on the terminal (minicom):

Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.42
Starting X-loader on MMC
Reading boot sector
Error: reading boot sector
X-Loader hangs

Can you help me to resolve this error? thank you

I don't follow those instructions yet because i don't know where do I type those instructions: on the Host PC or on the Terminal of the Target?

If it's on the terminal of the target, i will not be able to type those command because the card no longer contains a kernel (the flash was erased by a colleague). so the card cannot boot. So can you give me an other solution?

These instructions are meant to be dome from a Linux machine.

Alternatively, if you don't have a Linux computer or would rather use Windows, you can use the HP USB disk storage format tool. Follow the instructions here http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php/AM35x_EVM_Boot_from_SD/MMC_card.

Thank you for you help I solve that problem but now i have an other.

When I try to set the mmcboot environment variable as follows it doesn't work:

OMAP3EVM# setenv mmcboot 'mmcinit; fatload mmc 0 0x82000000
uImage; fatload mmc 0 0x83600000 ramdisk.gz; bootm 0x82000000'
OMAP3EVM# saveenv

when I type ENTER the result is :

Saving Environment to NAND...
Erasing Nand...
Erasing at 0x260000 -- 100% complete.
Writing to Nand... done

OMAP3EVM# run mmcboot

the result is:

reading uImage

** Unable to read "uImage" from mmc 0:1 **

. I think that it's because the adress i used are not correct. Can you tell me how can I find the correct adress?

From Booting from MMC using Ramdisk stored on MMC card, try this:

setenv mmcboot 'mmcinit; fatload mmc 0 0x80000000 uImage; fatload mmc 0 0x81600000 ramdisk.gz; bootm 0x80000000'
