Hello, I have a Rev B7 beagle board. Using CCS 3.3 and BlackHawk JTAG emulator, I could connect to ARM and C64x+ processor. I have the following queries: 1) Is there a way to initialize the peripherals on the Beagle Board from ARM using CCS? 2) Can a stand alone application run independently on...

  • Forum Post: how to enable L2 cache of omap3530?

    M Guo M Guo
Hi all, Can somebody please tell me how to enable the L2 cache of cortex-A8 in OMAP3530. The board of OMAP3530 is ICETEK-Mini-Board, which is very similar with Beagle Board. The OS is Linux with kernel 2.6.28. I wonder there is any Lib or samples to support L2 cache. And how can we come to know...

We have some concern about performance measurements we have made. Searching the TI website we found the following document on Cortex A8 performance http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php?title=Cortex-A8_Features#OMAP_ARM_Cores_Performance_Dhrystome_V2.1 Which claims 2.01 Dhrystone V2...

    Bernard Blackham Bernard Blackham
Hi, I'm debugging some performance issues and am attempting to get some insight into what is loaded into the L1 cache on the OMAP3530 (on a Beagleboard). I'm trying to use the c15 system array debug data registers, but they always throw an undefined exception fault when I try to use them....

I need to debug some low level programs with CCS4 on a Beagleboard C4 in supervisor mode. Whenever I build a simple program it automatically gets linked to rtsv5_A_le_eabi.lib. The boot.asm code in this immediately sets the ARM to User mode. There is no OS involved, no linux, no u-boot, no bios, no nothing...

  • Forum Post: OMAP3530 EMUFREE Bug?

    Scott Nowell Scott Nowell
SPRUF98R indicates on 2593 the the EMUFREE bit of the TIOCP_CFG register should control whether timers run during emulation. My reading of this is that writing a zero to this bit should cause the timer to stop when an emulator break is encountered. Is this correct? It does not appear to work that way...

  • Forum Post: Time Stamp Counter

    Sebastian Kruber Sebastian Kruber
Hello there! Does anyone know if the OMAP includes a Time Stamp Counter, like all new x86 processors have, and how it can be accessed? I am working on some algorithms in C, and a Time Stamp Counter would be a great thing to measure their speed. Maybe its access is even already implemented...
