Hello:  I am forwarding this inquriy from my customer.  they would like someone from TI DSP to stage a short chat on this implementation.

>>>>  We've designed in a TMS320C6455 module to do audio codec and filtering between a 32-slot TDM serial bus and a TCP/IP interface. It's a new project and our first with this DSP and developent environment, and we're expecting it to take our systems into a new arena business-wise..out the door probably ~50 units/year as it ramps up but basically every one of our existing larger customers could benefit from this technology. Big stuff. Lots riding on making this happen as quickly as possible.

I'd save a huge amount of time if I could get a quick dose of TI-specific expertise in waking up the serial side of things. We've got one McBSP interface handling 32 channels of 32-bit 48kHz bidirectional audio and will need to coordinate the DMA transfer of all that while still keeping track of which channel is which. I've got a software design to do that, I just need to figure out how to implement it in the SYS/BIOS world.

Any support you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Best regards,  >>>>>

    George,

TI.com has both answers that your customer needs:

    1. The red auto-link for TMS320C6455 takes him to the Product Folder. Click Technical Documents to find the Application Notes. Under that table is a link to View Application Notes for TMS320C645x DSP. In the Document Title box, type McBSP and click Search. These Application Notes will help him through the process of learning how to do this process he wants to do.

    2. For a "big stuff" project that will lead to significant revenue for this customer, he can go to TI.com and look under the Design Support column for TI Design Network. Clicking on that link will lead him to an impressive list of impressive design houses and consultants who can make this project happen "as quickly as possible". The TI Design Network is a very valuable support model that should work very well for your customer.

    Regards,
    RandyP
