Help in creating a new project

Have you downloaded the full version of the COde composer studio. It looks like you are missing the driver for the emulator that you are trying to select. I would recommend re-installing Code composer Studio. 

Please let us know if you are still having issues after the re-installation and we can loop in the required CCCS experts to help you with this.

Do you have any option "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM PLUS onboard USB Emulator" like this in target config?

Create new "target config file" and try for your emulator connection,

My classmates have chosen Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB emulator. But I don't have that option.

How your friend had installed the CCS?

Check your friend's CCS ver & CCS download link and whether he installed on windows system?

I have the option "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM PLUS onboard USB Emulator" in target config. I created new target config file and added it. But I am not provided with any component list to be added.

All my friends are using Windows and they just installed the same version CCSv5 that I have installed. Its a class project and all the hardware and software available is the same.

Most of the people will prefer windows env for CCS installation and also all the TI DSP packages (example projects) available readily(.exe)  for windows but some of the packages were not available for linux,

So, My opinion was that better to select windows env for working with CCS projects to get more support (maintainable),

Note:

Windows 8 also support CCS.
