c6414(c64x ) encoder

Hi:

I do have a c6414 based platform currently, but I searched on TI's site they only have video codec for c64x+, which I believe is different with c6414.

My question is, is it possible to use codec (h.264)for c64x+ on c6414 platform? Or do you guys have source code so I can modify onto c6414?

These CODECS supports only for OMAP35x, C645x, C647x, DM646, DM644x, DM643x (C64x+)

But I'm not sure for C6414,

Yes I saw this link before, and I did download a C64x+ encoder package.

In "lib" folder of package there is a file with extension ".c64p", I suppose "p" means "plus" or "+"

C6414 is on old C64x platform, not C64+.

I don't have any experience about applying encoder onto DSP yet, so I believe it will takes me very very long time to find out if this codec supports C6414.

Could you please ask codec team for a quick answer? If they say "NO" I will just walk-around.

Yulin Liu,

A library compiled for the C64x+ is not compatible with the C64x core in the C6414.

There is an IMGLIB package for the C64x, I believe. It contains the major blocks of an encoder that you could use to develop an H.264 encoder yourself. Or you may wish to contact one of our third party partners who can help you with developing this or may be able to provide a codec for the C64x core.

Yes, it is possiblt to use H.264 codec for c64x+ devices but it needs modification to work on other C64X+ based device.
