GPIO pin 6416

Hi!

I'm trying to use GPIO pins, but do not know which pins are.
Let me explain, I have enabled the GPIO ports and I've configured as outputs, and GPIO15 to GPIO9 know the pins are: GPIO15-> PIN 72,

GPIO14->PIN 77,

GPIO13->PIN 76,

GPIO12->PIN 68,

GPIO11->PIN 73,

GPIO10->PIN 59,

GPIO9->PIN 58, of the J1 connector.
could give me pins GPIO8 to GPIO0?

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your post.

I believe you are referring to C6416 DSK board. In this board, the GPIOs are multiplexed with some other functional pins.

The GPIO 15:9 pins are connected to an extension connector (J1) whereas the GPIO 8:0 pins are used for other interface and some are connected to test points. You can refer the device datasheet and DSK technical reference manual for clear insight.

Hi Senthil,

Perfect, there is one thing that I don't understand.
If they are connected to test points I can use them without any problem?

and other question, maybe in the future i will want use more than 16 outputs(i think that 24), what do you suggest?

Hello Alex,

Yes, you can use the GPIO pins which are connected to the test points. Make sure you have to configure the pins to GPIO since two of them are multiplexed with CLKOUT.

The C6416 device support maximum of 16 GPIOs only. You cannot have an option to get more number of GPIOs.

if I don't use GPIO, what other options i have? I see that HPI have 32 ports, they are configurable?

Hello Alex,

There is no other option in C6416 for your requirement.

You cannot configure HPI data bus as GPIO. If you really need more GPIOs, you have to look for other device with more number of GPIO.
