cache operation in simulator

Hi,

I have few questions regarding cache in c6416. I am using functional simulator for c6416 in ccs. I have following questions:

1) is cache off/disabled by default for internal memory?

2) is cache off/disabled by default for external memory?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

    By default, cache will be enabled in L1P internal memory and all other L1D, L2 P & L2D memories can be cacheable via enabling the same.

    Again, by default, cache will be disabled for external memory too and if needed, you can enable it through MAR bits.
