Issue of the connection on C6455 DSK external emulator

Hi,

We have purchase a set of TMS320C6455 DSK from Spectrum Digital, which works normally when connected with my PC by the supplied USB cable. but when I tried to connect it by the external 14 pins JTAG connector, the CCS3.3 prompted error messge as followed:

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0x80000240/-1146
Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,
Invalid data was scanned by the emulation controller.
Verify the board setup to make sure the scan chain is properly
defined.
If the setup is correct, then RESET EMULATOR.  This will disconnect each
target from the emulator.  The targets should then be power cycled
or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

I/O Port = 240

Board Name: XDS510_C6455

Cpu Name: C6400PLUS_0

Abort:  Close Code Composer Studio.

Retry:  Try to connect to the target again. Cancel:  Remain disconnected from the target Diagnostic: Run diagnostic utility.

I have not find any information about how to connect the C6455DSK with PC via the external 14 pins JTAG connect after studied all of the supplied docs. Can you help me to resolve this issue?  Or can you confirm us that the C6455DSK can be connected with PC by XDS510 USB emulator? Are there any instructions for the operation of connection between PC and the DSK target by the external emulator?

    Hi,

    Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages (for processor issues). Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics (e2e.ti.com).

    1. Check Switch settings. Make sure switch setting should be in (No boot), ignoring the "default".

    2. Try with fresh installation of CCS on same or another PC and Emulator drivers.

    Or can you confirm us that the C6455DSK can be connected with PC by XDS510 USB emulator?

    Yes XDS510 USB emulator works with C6455DSK.
