TLV320AIC23B with McASP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6745, TMDSOSKL137

IF I want to connect AIC23b with McASP on TMS320C6745 which configuration should I configure for McASP and AIC23 - I mean which communication standard I should use:

DSP mode - I2S mode - right justified - left  justified ?

regards,

  • Mohamed,

The C6745's McASP is designed to support several different configurations so you can match it to the configuration required for any specific device you need to interface it with. The AIC23B has two specific interface busses that are required to make it work, so you need to read an understand how the AIC23B works, and then select the appropriate interfaces on the C6745 that match that.

The best choice for your situation is to follow the example of the TMDSOSKL137 Starter Kit, which uses the AIC3106. The interfaces look similar, so they might be exactly the same. But the easiest choice would be to use the AIC3106 so you will be able to use all the same software drivers that come with the Starter Kit. I also recommend that you get one of the Starter Kits so you will be able to test software and drivers on a known working platform as a way to help your confidence that your own board is working right. This can be critical in bringing up a new board and is one of the least expensive ways to get a new board checked out, unless you are working for free.
