c6748 SATA ref clk

Hi,

I'm starting a new industrial temperature design with c6748 using SATA -interface. In SPRR590F page 142, table 6-47 SATA input clock source requirements are specified. However clock temperature drift requirement is not specified, Si511 from Silicon Laboratories has temp drift of 20ppm and total of 30ppm, would this be suitable clk?

Hello Risto,

For SATA input reference clock, it is good to go with the temperature stability of 30ppm. Also ensure the other specifications mentioned in the datasheet are met.

I will take care about matched wire lengths and impedanses. I noticed there is nothing for SATA in StarterWare, is there example and/or driver code somewhere at ti available?

Hello Risto,

As of now, we don't have example code for SATA, but you can get SATA test code from LogicPD website that is available in BSL code package. To get this code you need to register for their EVM.
