Need help for touch screen guidline with C6748 LCDK

Hi TI Experts:

I completed signal processing task on TI L138/C6748 development kit (C6748 LCDK). Now I need touch screen as inferface for controls and monitor status. I need your help tell me:

(1) which LCD touch screen is compatible with LCDK board 's P1 and P1 connectors (LCDC peripheral connectors). I want to stay on LCDK, since all my applications developed on it.

(2) Could you point to (or offer) me a simple touch screen program as my start point

(3) Startware for demo (said for EVK, not memtioned for LCDK), can I run that demo on LCDK?

The recommended LCD touch screen is CircuitCo ULCD7 Lite LCD which is given in the below link.

both links can not link to CircuitCo ULCD7 Lite LCD. digikey does not have this part. CircuitCo ULCD7 Lite LCD link on TI web gives error.
I want to get the LCD touch screen you recommended, I am sure that one you recommended will be easy to connect with LCDK board; someone may already have successful experience. Could you please point to how I could get one, TI store or another choice?

You may contact CircuitCo directly to check on the LCD availability.

Yes, the CircuitCo ULCD7 Lite is fully compatible with the LCDK and many customers have used it successfully. You could refer below links for more information.

Hi Senthil:

No where I can buy ULCD7 Lite LCD (out of stock for all distributors and Circuitco), can I use BeagleBone-LCD4 instead to work with C6748 LCDK? Any advice?

Hello Mike,

I think you need to evaluate the BeagleBone-LCD4 for using it with LCDK board as we have not tested this with LCDK. Please refer both LCD panels datasheet and specifications to understand the difference among them. However, in higher level i see difference in the connectors between ULCD7 and LCD4, so you may need to come up with a adapter/daughter card to mate LCD4 and LCDK.

(1) Both CircuitCo Beaglebone LCD4 and LCD7 out of stock for six months (I checked CircuitCo and distributors). I wonder what is closer one instead of circuitco LCD7 to interface LCDK?

(2) I need your clarification: LCD controller and touch screen controller are different things. I can use LCD for displayer only or touch screen only. If I just use LCD as a user interface, I don't need to connect to D1 to D32 ... bus, I need only connect LCD touch screen 4 wires to touch screen controller and I2C to DSP or MCU. Am I right? any suggestion? If that is true, I can buy any beaglebone black cape LCD???

Unfortunately, we do not have any other LCD module tested on LCDK. However, as i said in the previous post, you can use the compatible module with required modification on the interconnection.

The data lines D0 to D23 are required for the LCD RGB interface, each color will be represented by 8 data lines. The touch panel will be controlled through I2C interface. When you do not require the touch panel, you may ignore the I2C interface but data lines are required for LCD interface.

I got one ULCD7 Lite, could you please offer a program to test it using C6748 LCDK. I connected J3 and J4 of ULCD7 Lite with P1 and P2 of LCDK. I need a right program to test it.
