how to interface Dram and flash memory together with tmsc6713B processor?

Hello,

i want to interface DRAM and Flash memory to tms320c6713 processor. According to c6713 datasheet their are four CE pins, one ce pin enable the dram and another one enable the flash memory. but how can i use WR, OE, RD signals for both IC.

please reply me sasp.

Hello Payal,

Yes, you can use both DRAM and FLASH memory on the same bus with different chip select but not at the same instant. Please refer the below application notes where you can find the connection diagram and signal requirement for each interface. Please note, some of the control signals are multiplexed.

Hello,

I have read that documents. Actually i want to ask if both memory interface with dsp then i required any additional ckt like logical gates and any digital ckt. can i connect WR,OE,RD signals with both memory without any additional ckt.

Hello Yes,

It would be better if you have additional circuits like multiplexer to interface DRAM and FLASH on the same bus, as you need to connect same address/data lines to both the devices. The control signals for DRAM and FLASH are multiplexed as given in the terminal functions in device data manual. The control signals will be asserted based on the chip select assertion.
