Problem of Extending the length of IRAM in c6713

Hi,

I am just beginner of CCS and DSP, my Programm entain contain a lot of data wich are need to be inputed and oututed. The default length of IRAM is not enough. I need about double size of the default length of IRAM. I am not sure is there enough RAM in the board, I read in the technical reference that there is also a great quantity of Memory of EMIF, but I dont know if I can use this area to save all the sections or I can only save part of the Programm in this area?

And if I can save my Programm in this area, what should I do to change the storage location of the Programm. Should I change the memory location in the Link File (c6713.cmd)?

Any suggestions/recommendations/information on the above will be greatly appreciated.

The attached document, ( Chapter 3 : Basic Memory management) gives clear explanation about using the memory and changing the memory locations in the linker command file. Please have a look and revert if there are any further questions.

Dear Lee,
Yes, you have to change the linker command file (*.cmd) to change the execute location of the code.

If you want to run big size of code then you can SDRAM from your DSKC6713 EVM board.

Here is the required modification.

Hi Shankari,

thanks at first! I tried your code, although no error when compiled, but the program has not been implemented, and there is not data in memory. My question now is that is there any rule for the CMD file, that you can't save some sections in the SDRAM? I have read the recommended file, but not find any more details of the content. Or need I to extend memory with the EMIF. I read that there is a lot of memory at EMIF, but I don't know if I can direct use the memory or must I insert a expansion memory card at first?

Can you please provide your project which is not running ?
Not able to run your example on DSKC6713 board ?

I hope, that linker command file is sufficient to run your code on EMIFB SDRAM.
You can check your project memory map (*.map) file which is created by also using the *.cmd file.
