C6748 Secure Boot Device

Is there a software method to tell if a particular C6748 is a secure boot version? I would like to be able to tell at run time if I am running on a secure boot C6748 vs. a regular C6748.

I have checked the DEVIDR0 register, but it is the same on both devices. There appears to be a difference between the two device's DIEIDR1 registers, but I have seen elsewhere that that register is not documented and is for internal use only.

What about the undocumented DSP Security ID (0x01811000 - 0x01811FFF) or DSP Revision ID (0x01812000 - 0x01812FFF) areas? The regular C6748 seem to alias the DSP Security ID area while the secure boot version has some, what appear to be, fixed values. Is there any documentation available for those areas?

Yes, we do have secure version of C6748 and OMAPL138 processors.

I didn't see anything on that page that answers my question. I know I can tell by looking at the part number on the device, but what I was looking for was a way to tell from within our software, like some register to read.

Please refer to the System Security Status Register (SYSSTATUS) in Hardware Security Controller Registers which is part of the omapl138 security user guide available from ti.com. The last three bits are reserved for DEVICE type, that can be read to determine the device type.

Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for.

FYI the document you referenced does not include the actual register address, but just an offset from the base address of the Hardware Security Controller and the Hardware Security Controller's base address is not documented in the C6748 data sheet or the Technical Reference Manual. However, I was able to stumble upon an older version of the document you referenced (dated 01/11) and it had the complete address.
