Hello,

I am a researcher in one of the top US universities and teaching DSP lab course. Until now, during the labs, I have been using TI DSK 6713 board, however, they seem very old. For this reason, I am planning to renew my lab. The course is undergrad course and mainly students are processing sound signals by using the board. For example, last year, they implemented speaker recognition project.

We need a good board and it should be useful for education.

If you can advise me some choices, si would be very happy.

In additional to Senthil's suggestion, the following are the points you can consider.

1. C6748 LCDK is a good choice for students. It has single DSP core.This board comes along with starter-ware packages which includes

peripheral driver source code plus the sample examples to run through and understand each peripheral interfaced with C6748 processor. The face detect demo software is a significant one on C6748 LCDK board. For more details about the face detect demo, visit :

2. OMAPL138 LCDK is superset choice of C6748 LCDK. This has one ARM core and one DSP core. For DSP core, this also has starterware software package for peripheral functionality demonstration.

For ARM core, you can boot and run Linux- This will be an additional one.

IPC - There are IPC programs which demonstrate the capability of communicating between ARM and DSP cores.

I believe we have been migrating many educational programs from the DSK6713 to the LCDK6748.
