is it possible using serial console in android apk's at am335x starter kit

Hi,

i'm trying to develop an android application for auser interaction device. i use AM335x starter kit for that right now.

i have another motor control module card that can be communicated and controlled via uart. i want to controle that motor controller card with am335x starter kit.

i wonder if it is possible communicating with my motor controller card using serial console in application softwares. (using J3 connector)

For example my android apk software will have a button and when user clicks it AM335x starter kit will send a data through serial console to my motor controller card.

Or instead of serial console is it possible using an FTDI based solution with starter board's usb host controller output? (j5 connector)

Android serial port API project provides APIs to connect, read and write data through serial ports.

You can use this project for UART communication.

Thank you for your response,

I could succeed making uart communication through my android application.
I use AM33x starter kit and needed to change spi pins to uart pins from kernel before running apk.
