Boot up time for AM335x + Android system

Is there anyone who experienced AM335X + Android platform.

I'm designing the system now and it will be very simple. It will includes just LCD pannel , Touch pad and just one user apps.

Is it possible for the target app to be shown under 10 seconds.

Any advice or suggestion for boot-up time would be pretty appreciated.

Hi Luke,

10 seconds seems a bit aggressive.
By default the linux kernel boots quickly, but the Android framework takes more time.
TI provides a manual to help with optimizing boot time: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Optimize_Linux_Boot_Time

You will also find linux quick boot presentation online, and on elinux.org website. Everything that speed up linux boot time will speed up android, but only to a certain point.

Do you know the current boot-up time for TI Android evaluation system like beaglebone or AM335x start kit?

Hi Luke,

In our test bench, the boot time are around 4 seconds for the kernel + bootloader, then add 80 seconds for android.
The total from power on to android lockscreen is about 90 seconds.
