Hi sir,

the following packages are how to enable or install in android

1.mobile location services

2.gps location dervices

3.google map

4.google play store

5.google services frame work

these packages are messing in our beaglebone black.

please help me,

Hi,

those applications are not part of the AOSP (Android Open Source Project), but are part of Google Mobile Services and require specific licensing from google.
This licensing can only happen after certifying your device as an Android device: passing the CDD and CTS compliance.

Hi,

I need to get location from gps module and update to the server. For that i need my gps module has to be recognized by some app and share the location.

When I studied about it i find that Google services framework and GPS location services are needed for that.

Suggest me any method to get location.

Hi,

Accessing Google services will require going through the whole certification process, then licensing those with Google.
If you cannot do this (or do not want to), you can also develop a custom java application that will rely on the GPS API provided by the Android framework via the LocationManager component:

Hi,

location service is enabled on beagleboneblack.

You can see if the service is running by doing:

$ dumpsys

The first lines (there are many), will list the services currently running. Alternatively, you can do:

$ dumpsys | grep DUMP

To filter on running services, or even:

$ dumpsys location

To get information specifically about the location services.

this is the last line i m receiving for dumbsys location command.

I want to check, mobile location service also for indoor. how to check that.

Hi,

In Java, you can use this code to detect if the GPS location is enabled:
LocationManager locationmanager = (LocationManager)context.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
boolean location_enabled = locationmanager.isProviderEnabled(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER);

and this code to detect if indoor location is enabled:
LocationManager locationmanager = (LocationManager)context.getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
boolean location_enabled = locationmanager.isProviderEnabled(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER);

From the output of the dumpsys command, I would guess there is no hardware to provide location.
Do you have a GPS connected?
