Running Android in x86_64 machines

Hi Experts,

In order to check the Android OS functionality is it possible to boot the Android OS from the USB stick in the normal PC before testing it in the AM335x EVM ?

Hello,

If you want to check the functionality of your Android port, there is the CTS (Compatibility Test Suite): source.android.com/.../index.html

If you want to try Android on your computer, you have the Android-x86 project: http://www.android-x86.org/
I would like to stress out this is not a project supported by Google, some things might not work and it can not be used as a reference port.

Is there any documentation specifying the missing features in x86 port ? Also I want to test the working of middlewares, native libraries, daemon and few applications. Is that comes under actual port .

Hello,

About the Android-x86 project, it depends on the hardware you are running it; maybe the Wi-Fi, the camera, or something else will not work.
Once again, you must not use it as a reference.

The CTS (Compatibility Test Suite, source.android.com/.../index.html) will give you a general status of the port.
What you want to test is specific to each middleware and library, and it must be done manually.
