But what it seems is there is mis-match in way ECC is used in U-boot and kernel&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;(1) either ECC scheme is different BCH4_SW and BCH4_HW&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;(2) Or the way ECC algorithm is implemented.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;I would suggest to look for following:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;(1) ECC layout is same in both kernel and U-boot. (by seeing at OOB area dump)&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;(2) ecc.calculate is implemented in similar way in both U-boot and kernel.
