Code Composer Studio 5.5.0-desktop.desktop shortcut fails

Yes, You can start CCS from command line too, also you can write script in your host linux machine at "/usr/bin" directory.

chmod a+x /usr/bin/ccstudio

cat /usr/bin/ccs

#!/bin/bash

/opt/ti/ccsv5/eclipse/ccstudio &

Hi David,

I have installed CCS 5.5 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (32-bit).  The default desktop shortcut 'Code Composer Studio 5.5.0-desktop.desktop' fails, giving error: 'There was an error launching the application'.

How did you install the CCS on linux ie through root or normal user ?

sudo ./ccs_setup_5.5.0.00077.bin

You could try creating a new launcher.  Just specify the path in the command field.  Click the image to customize the icon.

Could you please print the content of that shortcut file in terminal.

No, It should work,

For me, Its worked well though I installed by root at "/opt/ti"

Because of this you can't create "workspace" in '/' location but it is possible in "/home/<user>/"
