For the future of Arago project

Hi,

I have questions about TI Sitara SDK.
Please tell me if someone have information.

Q1: Demo application of current SDK is implemented with Qt4,
Is Qt5 supported in the future?

Q2: I think that Arago project Linux is using QWS windows system insted of X11, but Qt5 is not possible to use the QWS.
If Qt5 is supported, what window system is used?

Q3: If Qt5 is not supported, is UI framework other than Qt scheduled?

Best regards,
H.U

  • Hi H.U.

I'll forward these questions for the factory team.

Yes, future SDKs will support Qt5.

The initial releases will not support a window system, it will support EGLFS. In the future, the plan is to support Wayland/Weston.

As noted above, Qt is the planned UI framework.

  • Hi, RonB

    Thank you for your reply.
I understand the Qt5 support plan.

My costomer think that they want to use as soon as possible Qt5.
    So, i have additional questions.

Q4: When is the release schedule of Qt5 for AM437x SDK?

Q5: Is current TI-SDK for AM437x compatible with any Yocto Project version?
Yocto Project 1.5 (Dora)? or Yocto Project 1.6 (Daisy)?

Q6: Are current TI-SDK for Keysotne2 and AM437x same Arago Linux version?

    Best regards,
    H.U
