NAND on DM6446 small vs large block size

Hi,

My customer have previously been using small block NAND (Samsung) K9F1208R0B with the DM6446 design.

On their latest board batch (DM6446 silicon rev 2.1) they have now produced units with Large block size NAND (K9F1G08ROB)  and a couple of units with the old rev Small block size (K9F1208ROC) part for reference.

It appears that the Linux kernel loads  8 seconds slower with the large block size part. They were expecting the opposite to happen by choosing a faster NAND device as the intention was to shorten boot time.

Do you have any input on this?

Thanks,
Fredrik
