OMAPl138 how to protect HWI of being preempted

Hi all

I'm using omapl138 lcdk. I'm using DMA for audio transfers that is connected to HWI 4 and at the same time I have Syslink RingIo data from ARM which produces HWI 5 as far as I understand. I see that my system is unstable when I increase sampling rate...it seems there is some side effect of these HWIs being preempted each other...or smth like this.

Is there any mutex to protect HWI4 of being preempted? What is the standard practice here?
