memory issue

Hi Sankar,

Could you check whether the whole text file is is placed in the NAND? From example you should read some blocks of data and compare it with the original text file.

Seems there is something wrong. If the text file size is correct probably the free memory data is not correct or the NAND size. Could you share how you are checking the NAND free space? What software using your board?

I have 128 MB nand board with 80 MB free space but in that free space 418 MB text file will be stored.

Please help me how it is possible to stores that much mb text file.am facing this problem in case of text files only.

Hi Sankar,
How did you know that file size is 418MiB ?
Please make sure that you have 128MiB size of NAND on your board, please discuss with your hw team to check.
Also refer to the data sheet of NAND (take part no from the top of NAND IC chip markings)

Do one thing, mount pendrive or MMC and copy that 418MiB file to that media and also you can copy the file through network to your PC and cross check that file size has 418MiB indeed.

Try to check that file size in another PC too.

Did you see this behavior in anyother board ?

Am facing this problem in case of text files only,in case of .mp4 files copied up to 120 mb only after that showing error like "no space left on the device".

Am not creating text file,I have 418 mb text file in my pc,that text file copied successfully to my 128 MB NAND board and I conformed my hardware team also that is 128 MB NAND only.

Now try to create text file for ~400MiB (using dd command) and then copy to your board.
How did you get/download that file to your PC?
Do you have any other board to check this behavior ?

Yes,am creating 400 mb file through dd command and copy to my board its copied successfully and check another board it is also same behavior

Sankar,

I suggest you to copy the whole NAND partition via dd command as image on some other media. Then check the real size of the image file.

df -h
du -sch <text file>

After copying use "sync" command.
