How to do Automatic shut-down of system in linux when Battery power gets low for AM335x ? This will be done in user space or kernel space?

How to set/configure the battery level to which the system should do automatic shut-down.

Is this handled in TI SDK ? if yes where do i find the code for the same.

Hi Vinay,

TI SDK has Linux power supply class which represent battery, UPS, AC or DC power supply properties to user-space. You can find detailed documentation about Linux power supply class in ../linux.../Documentation/power/power_supply_class.txt file. You write a user space application or kernel module which should try to read capacity in percents or voltage and execute "shutdown" command at desired battery level.

I can not suggest you complete decision but I'll give an example for Linux module at:
www.tldp.org/.../lkmpg.html
where you should read the battery level or capacity and sleep for some period of time. If the battery dropping under some level you should call "system("shutdown");".
