    John, As I explained, I use a SDP file to provide the stream profile information to VLC - it apparently finds the stream, starts h264 avcodec, and even identifies SPS and PPS NALUs before it bails... Thanks, -Chuck

    John, I was able to validate my H.264 video stream over RTP by downloading and installing the latest version of ffmpeg from their project git. At this point, my dv_streamer forms single NAL RTP packets - I'll implement packet fragmenting later. I use a SDP file rather than RTCP, so the magic incantation...
