USB Host Power

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1808

Hi,

I am using LogicPD's Zoom eXp Am1808 board with latest Starterware firmware. I am using CCSv5.1 with CodeSourcery GCC to compile evmAM1808  examples for USB Host.

To be specific, I am working usb_host_mouse example. I referred http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/StarterWare_USB#HID_Host_Class.

On running, the board is not able to detect the mouse connected on J6 USB-mini OTG port. On the LCD screen left most bottom corner I see "No Device". Even the optical mouse's LED is not glowing.

Do we need to connect external power supply to power up the mouse ??

Same thing happens with usb_host_msc example when I connect a flash drive to the same port. I get FR_NOT_READY on PC terminal screen.

So in order to run any host application on this board, do I need to power up my device externally ?

Regards,

Rohit
