ISR on PRU ICSS

Hi All,

I'm a newbie on PRU ICSS. Going through the documentation on am335xPruReferenceGuide.pdf i could not find any way to map an ISR for any generated interrupt. Every example that i saw polls on R31 register. Is there a way to call an ISR on receiving an interrupt.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rakesh,

that is a feature of current PRU architecture. All IRQs are mapped to events and the PRUs need to poll. There is no interrupt scheme defined otherwise.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your reply. Instead of polling I have though of a strategy:

Step 1: Configure R31 for Interrupts in which I'm interested.

Step 2: Send PRU ICSS to sleep in Wake on Event mode ( SLP 1)

Step 3: Wake up on event

Step 4: Check source of event

Step 5: Perform action on event

Step 6: Goto Step 2

What do you think about it with respect to polling in terms of power consumption ?

HI,

The above mentioned strategy of waiting in sleep mode after configuring the reason for waking up works.
