Hello,

We need to test SPI function of AM4377 SItara processor with AM437x IDK as the reference board.

Since SPI cannot access through JTAG then as far as my limited idea is concern I think one way to test SPI function is to incorporate it with bootloader. Does anyone here have an idea how to test or access to spi when MPU use as the master sending data to slave which is an AIO board then resume control to main function.

In addition to my question.. we use only TI-RTOS as our OS and CCS6 for the development tools.

Hi Leo,

I don't know if you have seen it already, but there is a MCSPI example in the AM437x PDK for the AM437x IDK. It sets the IDK as master. This might not be exactly what you need, but perhaps the example would shed some light into developing your application.

Its located under C:\ti\pdk_am437x_1_0_1\packages\MyExampleProjects\MCSPI_BasicExample_idkAM437x_armExampleProject and is RTOS based. There are some steps involved to generate the MyExampleProjects folder after installing the release. Please see the Building the PDK section in the Developer guide. The release is here. You will also need CCS 6.1.2.

Thank you for your response.

I tried the spi example but I'm having problem when loading the executable file(.out) It says that C:\ti\pdk_am437x_1_0_1\packages\MCSPI_BAsicExample_idkAM437x_armExampleProject\Debug\MCSPI_BasicExample_idkAM437x_armExampleProject.out: Load failed).

Do you have idea why this error came out?

I already fixed the error..I just forgot to load the GEL file for initialization.
