Hi,

I have a board that has connected the CC3100 to a CC2640 via SPI and I am trying to compile the driver from ti\tirtos_simplelink_2_13_00_06\packages\ti\drivers\wifi\cc3100 with IAR Embedded Workbench.

I am getting these errors:

The code calls GPIOPinWrite(hwAttrs->enPort, hwAttrs->enPin, hwAttrs->enPin);
But GPIOPinWrite from gio.h is defined like this: void GPIOPinWrite(uint32_t ui32Pins, uint32_t ui32Val)

So I am doing something wrong here. Is there a example for CC2640+CC3100 that I missed? Or documentation how to do it?

Hi Sebastian,

We currently don't have host driver support for CC3100 on CC2640. The WiFi module that you are trying to build with CC2640 is configured for Tiva and MSP devices only. That explains the error you are seeing because GPIOPinWrite() is defined in TivaWare as
"extern void GPIOPinWrite(uint32_t ui32Port, uint8_t ui8Pins, uint8_t ui8Val);".

You may need to port the WiFi module on CC2640. But we wouldn't recommend it as the memory footprint of host driver will be too big for CC2640.

www.ti.com/.../cc3100 mentions a small driver:
"The device driver minimizes the host memory footprint requirements requiring less than 7KB of code memory and 700 B of RAM memory for a TCP client application."
So is this driver available or do I have to write one myself?
Or do you not recommend using the CC3100 at all with the CC2640?

TI-RTOS doesn't have the CC3100 WiFi driver support for CC2640. You may have to write one yourself.

If the sizes that you mention work for your project, then it should be fine.
