browse http using IPv6 format

i'm using TM4C129 with XDCtool xdctools_3_31_02_38_core and TI-RTOS tirtos_tivac_2_14_00_10.

I'm using the http server feature and I enabled the IPv6, and my board has IPv6: fe80::21a:b5ff:fe00:211 but when I try to invoke my page from the browser using

http://[fe80::21a:b5ff:fe00:211]/ the page won't open but if I tried using IPv4 like http://10.1.0.151 , it will work.

so where is the problem?

Hi Mohamed,

The IPv6 address is a link-local address. Is your device on the same LAN as your PC? Can you ping your device with IPv6 address from your PC?

Yes Sir. my device and my PC on the same LAN and i can ping my device from my computer

HTTP is an application layer protocol. As I understand, it shouldn't matter which network layer protocol (IPv4, IPv6) is used. Since you are able to ping the board from your PC, I believe the IPv6 protocol on the board to be working. Can you run WireShark tool on your PC to debug? Are you able to connect to other IPv6 addresses from your browser? Another suggestion would be to try using cURL or wget on command line to talk to the HTTP server instead of the browser.
