Hello,

how to use the switching capabilities of Sitara AM335x on "SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA" v02.01.00.01? the folder \os_drivers\CPSW is gone. I know the SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X supports it but as we are starting a new product I was wondering what happened.

This question seems to be specific to the IDSK rather than TI-RTOS. I went ahead and moved this thread over to the device forum in hopes that it will get a faster response there.

In it's place the 2.1 SDK supports PRU-ICSS based Ethernet communications. The User Guide describes contains an Ethernet MAC example and the Ethernet/IP example that can be configured to be an Ethernet switch. The online version of the User guide at

I know that there is some kind of modification that can be done on the Ethernet/IP protocol to transform the PRUs (ICSS system) in something close to an ethernet switch. Unfortunately we can't thrust an entire line of products on that, and since the Sitara have the CPSW subsystem, which was supported until the ISDK 1.1.0.8 (released just few month ago), we better keep using it.

Will the support for the CPSW subsystem disappear in the future?
Why there are two Industrial SDK? SYSBIOSSDK-IND-SITARA and SYSBIOSSDK-IND-AM335X?

Hi Jeferson,

of course you may continue to use the CPSW if that better suits your needs. The IA-SDK always focused on PRU based communications where we need to deliver advanced IP in the form of PRU code and drivers. The CPSW does not require that as it is fully implemented in HW and as such was dropped from IA-SDK.

But what does stop you from using the example that was provided in 1.1.0.8?

Also we do have two streams of IA-SDK for historical reasons at the moment. 1.1.x just supports AM335x but is still in active use by customers. 2.1.x combines support for AM437x and AM335x. It also updates to newer Starterware release.

In addition TI has just released Processor RTOS SDK. This now provides support for NDK/NIMU using CPSW interface.
