Hi.

I have a question about Task Stack Size...

I use TMS320C6455 for a project

I was need to change my task stack size, default size(1K) to 28K, using .tcf files.(/Sechduling/TSK - Task Manager/MyTask).

I did it.

Is there any restriction for task stack size ? (32K, 64K, 128K...)

Is there document to solve my quesiton ?

Hi sungjin,

You can make the stack as large as you like. There is no restriction other than the amount of memory you have on your platform. You can refer to section 3.6.3 'Task Stacks' in the SYSBIOS user guide in the <BIOS installation dir>/docs folder for more details on Task stacks.

Thanks for your answer.

Actually I tried to make the stack size to 32K(C6455 with Internal RAM 2MB), but it didn't work.

I did test Variable Stack Size...

Our app's stack peak size is 11.5K(it's our mistake... whatever...)

The result is below

4K - Crash
10K - Crash
16K - No Crash
28K - No Crash
32K - No Boot

What is the problem to use stack with 32k size...?

I'll wait for your answer...

Hi sungjin,

My bad - I didn't realize you were using the older BIOS product named 'DSP/BIOS'. In that case, I believe what you are seeing makes sense. The TSK API documentation in bios_5_31_02\packages\ti\bios\doc\spru403n.pdf P.2-473 does indeed specify that stackSize is of type Int16. Hence you would not be able to specify a stack size greater than 2^15 - 1.
