Is the .NET COMPACT framework automatically included and available in the WinCE 6 R3 and 7.0 BSPs for OMAP-L1xx, Sitara, and OMAP35xx?
I believe the stock images already include .NET Compact Framework, but in case they don't, it is easy to add them to the OS Design in Platform Builder, Catalog View:
Thanks you for the illustration.
I was wondering if it is also possible to acquire .NET Compact Framework as a separate STAND-ALONE framework (apart from Win CE build chain)
for the Sitara processor family?
You can download a stand-alone .NET package from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
The package can be installed through ActiveSync or you can transfer the .CAB files to the target manually and do the install in the GUI.
It works on all CPUs supported by Windows CE; there is no special Sitara build, nor is one needed.
However the CE image must include the dependencies required by the .NET Framework - COM, TCP/IP etc.For a full list refer to the "OS Dependencies for .NET" item in Platform Builder.
