  • Vinoth,

Can you clarify what version of OMAP-L138 WinCE BSP you have and whether you downloaded it from somewhere or was it part of the EVM kit.  The OMAP-L WinCE BSP is not  yet "Generally available" and hence want to be sure what you are using.

  • Hi Jatin,

    Thanks for your response 1st.

No we are bought the EVM kit from ur company only.We are going to use win ce6.0 bsp. for that i need the lcd driver code . Because Win CE6.0 does not supports the LCD(240*400resolution).Thats why i need the help.

  • Vinoth,

I still need to know the WinCE BSP version you have and whether the BSP was included along with the EVM. Thanks.

  • Jatin,

We are using Win CE6.0 we are creating the own BSP.No Bsp is given with EVM.

  • Vinoth,

There is significant effort in WinCE BSP port to a new platform/processor. It will not be possible for us to support a completely new BSP port that you are trying to do.

I suggest that you contact your local TI representative to see if your company can get access to early drop of WinCE BSP for OMAP-L138 EVM. A beta release is expected to be available for general download in the next couple of months (this is the current estimate and could move around). Having a working baseline will make your effort more manageable.

  • Jatin,

But my work is do work with the new Lcd i already told its resolution is 240*400. Pls help atleast tell hw to write a code in visual studio 2005 for lcd. and one more thing i want to reduce the peripherals in the old bsp which we testing.Tel me hw to delete the particular peripherals in the bsp.Example in old bsp we have sd card in new one we dont need sd card.

  • Dear Vinoth,

do you have a lot of experience with WinCE programming? If not I would recommend to visit a WinCE workshop. Our 3P Adeneo for example does provide this. It is very helpful to understand the WinCE development process and you will learn how to configure the WinCE image. E.g. you can remove drivers usually using the Platform Builder configuration tools just with a single click.

Our BSPs do contain LCD drivers so that is a great start if you need to adapt for a given display/resolution. However we have no instructions for doing that in general. Again there are a couple of 3Ps who will can offer extended software support in the WinCE area.

    Regards.

  • Hi

    Frank

    Regards

    Vinoth.

  • Vinoth,

you can find  the info on the web. Just google for adeneo and you will get the link

    http://www.adeneo-embedded.com/srt/en/document/show?location.id:=1357

I would recommend the OMAP3 workshop of course. Anyway there are probably many other options of WinCE workshops. There is nothing special with our WinCE BSPs. We follow the Microsoft recommendations and you need to use their tools anyway.

Unfortunately we are not able to provide one-on-one software support/training via the forums as in your case. Their might be exceptions but then you need to justify your business case with your local TI FAE. They will take care about your issues then.

    Regards.

  • Hey Frank,

Otherwise i ll provide my mail id .jus mail me the details hw to create a new driver instead of forum. am hoping u.Am in india i cant able to go and attend the workshop which u told.Bec i joined before 2 months only so i am seeking help to you people .Hope you respond my mail id is vinoth006@yahoo.co.in

  • Vinoth,

sorry, but that doesn't work either... we would be out of business very soon if we would have to solve the problems of our many thousands customers one-by-one.

We do support questions on our products on the forum. If you need support for WinCE which is a Microsoft product please ask them. For adapting the LCD driver you will have to wait until the TI BSP is available and then you can read the sources and start learning writing your own code. Unfortunately in todays business you can't always expect to get the ready made solutions somewhere. Hey, we are engineers anyway... inventing, learning and solution creation is our daily business. I know you have a steep learning curve ahead of you but if you master this you will be proud of this. Otherwise talk with your boss and ask him for options. He can't expect you to know everything from the start.

    Regards.
