I checked the CPU load, which was around 20% for the OpenGLES XAML, and the I ran the same test using unaccellerated XAML - it totally bogged down the MCU (100% load). However, if you did not have a nandflash chip on this pin and instead wanted to use it as a GPIO, you could change this to MODE(7). The definitions for what functions each pin has are in the AM335x reference manual.

Forum Post: RE: How to use WEC7 Remote Display ( cerdisp ) in Beaglebone?

Hello dasco,

Here are some instructions on how to enable and use CE Remote Display:

http://nicolasbesson.blogspot.com/2007/12/enable-remote-display-application.html

Make sure to include it in your build by setting the SYSGEN_CERDISP catalog item and sysgening again. Whether those pure-virtual members were declared in that class or in a base class. A class cannot be created unless all of its members exist. A class that has pure-virtual members (whether declared in the class or in a base class) is called an abstract class.

So if you inherit from a base class that has pure-virtual members, you must implement these in the derived class if you want to create instances of that class (like putting them in a
std::vector
).

You can put pointers to an abstract class in a
std::vector
. But only pointers, not the object themselves. So you would need to allocate your objects with
new
, but since the class is abstract you cannot create them at all. So you will need to derive a new class that implements the pure-virtual methods. And then you will be able to create that class and put it in your
std::vector<someclass*>
.

I would perform a quick diff of the code bases on the working and non-work machines to see if anything was different. If not I would do a clean build to see if anything changes. Another quick thing to try is rebooting of the offending system to make sure nothing with VS2008 and PB are out of sorts and then rebuild. Finally it might be worth while to check the QFE level of the machines to makes sure the platform itself is the same.

Right now nothing is jumping out as an issue based on your description.

Regards,

Forum Post: RE: [AM335X WINCE7][BSP_WINCE_ARM_A8_02_30_00_Source.exe] TFT LCD for 16bit bpp

Hi,

1. The interface used to manage resources depends on what software you are using on the DSP side. As far as FC is concerned, DMAN3 is your DMA-manager and as I have mentioned before, it does not use/touch DMA channels. Are you aware of any other software being used on the DSP side ?

2. TI codecs would ideally express their DMA requirements using an IDMA3 interface. DMAN3 is then used on the DSP side to read these requests and grant resources. DMAN3 configuration is adjusted per system availability and requirements to assign the right resources to the codecs. Maybe you can check codec datasheet to confirm that all codecs are using IDMA3 to obtain resources ?

3. As long as system initialization on ARM side and DMAN3 happens in sequence, after that DMAN3 would only touch registers that correspond to resources it owns. Typically at init time, global initialization registers for EDMA3 are modified (for e.g., queue priorities, queue to TC mappings etc). After that, both ARM and DSP should touch registers that correspond to channels/tccs/params it owns.

You can look at this post for some discussion on this topic:- http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/linux/f/354/t/47756.aspx

Forum Post: RE: WEC7 porting on AM335x (BeagleBone with LCD7 Cape) - how to enable touchscreen

Hello Dasco,

I have not gotten back to working on the resistive touchscreen portion. The touchscreen requirement wasn't nailed down, so I moved over to other requirements.

    I'm also curious about remote display, but I need to remotely view the LCD, not view another desktop from the LCD. Is this supported inside the compact version of Windows?

Paul
