Charley, Do you have a debug build or release build? We have observed Visual Studio crash when disconnecting device with debug build on the TI EVM. The root cause is not known (whether it is related to Visual Studio/Platform builder or with the BSP). Jatin

The EVM flash utility has not been verified with Windows 7 or Vista. Recommend using Windows XP for the first time. For subsequent updates to bootloader, Platform builder can be used to flash.

Yes. bSquare has verified that USB RNDIS KITL works in BSP 6.14. BSP 6.14 will be available for download tomorrow.

David, The changes in both BSP 6.13 and BSP 6.14 were primarily related to power management. The functionality was verified by bSquare on the EVM Rev G. Not sure why this would not work on your custom hardware. (also without a way to reproduce it on the EVM it would be difficult to make progress on...

I dont see a reason why you should not be able to map Timer 4 registers. Can you please share some more information about the issue you are seeing? Code snippet for your Timer4 mmap code will help. Also, what is the error that you are seeing - MmmapIOSpace() returns an error code and a null virtual pointer...

  • Forum Post: Re: How to compile the VideoCapture source code in WinCE BSP 6.14.00???

    Jatin Jain Jatin Jain
Hi, Use the instructions in the attached readme.txt file. The readme.txt in the BSP 6.14.00 release is the incorrect version. But do note that there is a dependency on building the video capture source code in the MS shared source tree as is before you can proceed and if that step fails (as specified...

Looks like a bug and a bug report has been opened. The DSS1/DSS2 clk settings seems to be handled in pairs in most places in code and hence maybe no ill-effects of this have been observed. Regardless it should be fixed. Thanks for posting.

  • Forum Post: Re: bsp6.14.00 suspend power measurement

    Jatin Jain Jatin Jain
Hi, Under the Documentation folder you will see an appnote for Power Management which has measurement numbers. What you observe is expected due to an EHCI driver suspend issue. The document power numbers are without EHCI driver in the build (that is documented in the same section). This will get fixed...

Sathish, The BSP version they are using is significantly old (more than 1.5 years I think). Can they download the latest BSP 6.14.00 and try that on the EVM: Using the shell command "reboot". ==> this one uses the IOCTL_HAL_REBOOT. You can run this command if you don't have KITL...

  • Forum Post: Re: back to back uSD card file reads

    Jatin Jain Jatin Jain
The problem is probably due to the SDHC/SD memory/FATFS subsystem in the bootloader only being designed for one shot use (in the XLDR it loads EBOOTSD.NB0 and then EBOOTSD loads NK.BIN). Changing E BOOT code to load other files from the SD card is not a normal feature of the bootloader and needs...

Have you tried enabling KITL + KERNEL debugger to debug using Platform builder? However this will only help if your kernel is crashing after OAL and KITL have been initialized. Give it a try if you havent done already.

Here are the steps to use USB RNDIS as KITL device. Here are the steps you need to follow in order to make USB RNDIS work: Setup Device: 1. On the debug terminal, press SPACE when prompted. Using the bootloader menu, set the boot device to USBFn RNDIS . 2. Set the...

Just to get a baseline: 1. What audio encoding are you using and at what bit rate. 2. When you said the smaller resolution works, does the audio play out fine (with the exact same audio bitrate and codec) 3. Can you try with the prebuilt SD card images that are in the Demo package. (just to...

Current benchmarking numbers do match what you see. We have seen about 1.3MBytes/s Read and 3.5MBytes/s write. Further analysis on optimization has not been done on this at this time.
