Hi TI Web Folks,

Every time I download an EZSDK or other software packages like the Code Generation Tools (e.g. via http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/ezsdk/latest/index_FDS.html), TI asks me to fill in an Export Form, and that's fine. What really kind of sucks however, is that it does not remember my settings from download to download -- and it is always the same information. I have to be logged in to do the download. PLEASE, make your system remember my form settings for the next time. There is no need for me to keep typing in my company's website or my email address, or even what I am using the software for. When I download an update, it is the same as the last time I downloaded the software.

Thanks.

B.J.

    B.J.,

User testing shows that most people defer to pre-populated data and don’t bother to update it for accuracy. As a result, to ensure accuracy for U.S. government audits, the system requires entry each time. Having said that, you’ve raised a real frustration; we will explore whether something can be done to make entry easier. Thanks for suggesting it.

    Blake,

    Thanks for the thoughtful response.

I can understand what you are saying, and even if you have to do that for "new" downloads, perhaps you could tag the information to the product, and pre-fill the form when someone is simply downloading an update to a product that they have already entered the form information for.

    Best regards,

    B.J.

    Yes, it is really frustrating!

Although I sympathise that it is in the nature of Government Requirements to be frustrating - bureaucrats just love bureaucracy!!

    :-(

Would your government approve if you pre-filled the fom, but then the user had to explicitly check a box saying, "I confirm that this is true & accurate" or suchlike?
