Hello.  I am trying to find information about a TI chip on a board that I am trying to troubleshoot.  It's a dip-16 and has two lines of markings.  The first line reads 4AAR83K, which I believe to be a date code batch code or something, because multiple instances of the same IC have a different code for this line.  The second line reads 71001FB/903T01.

Hopefully, someone will know something about this IC, and point me in the right direction.  Googling and searching the TI website have proved less than fruitful.  Thanks.

I did some digging but was unable to come up with anything either, I suspect that the part is old to the point that it is not listed in any of the current digital archives. Do you expect the part to be very old?

The date code seems reasonable, they are constructed of the form YMLLLLS (year month lot site) so this part was made in October (A in hex is 10) of ???4. The problem with the topside marking is that it does not always 1:1 correspond with a orderable part number, so if it does not show up in the search it may be fairly hard to find if you do not know what the original part number was supposed to be.

It's from a lighting control module for a 2004 Grand Marquis, so the XXX4 makes sense.  I think it may be a relay of some sort, as it is attached to actual relays.  It appears to use both 5V and 12V logic.

That is certainly new enough that it should be online somewhere if it is available, it is possible that this is either a special part for the vehicle manufacturer (most likely), or just does not have a topside marking that really matches its orderable part number. I am afraid there may not be a good solution, as it could be the only one who would be able to tell you about what the part really is is the vehicle manufacturer, and it is quite likely they will not share such information.

Bummer.  I appreciate your help though.  Thanks!
