Hi,

I need to get information from a thousand sensors in to a computer. The output from each sensors is a 0-5V DC signal. These sensors are spread out in a square mile area.

What is the most cost effective way to collect all these 0-5V DC signals and to display them on a computer?

Thanks,

Githin

Could you provide some more details on the application? For example what sort of sample rate are you looking for, and what type of connections are you planning on to get to the sensors (wired/wireless)? I don't know of anything out of the box that would handle 1000 sensors but I am certain there would be a way to do this.

Thanks for the reply Bernie .

    Here are some details:

Min. Sample rate - 1 sample per minute from each sensor.

My main issue is cost - I will go in for wireless if it works out to be cheaper - There is no existing wiring that I can use. I will have to lay out wiring for the same or use some protocols over the Wired campus network (Ethernet).
