Tpd1e05u06 - Package polarity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD1E05U06

Hello,

How do you know which pin is pin 1 on the chip tpd1e05u06 (package 2-Pin X1SON) ?

For the two other packages (10-pin and 14-pin) it is clearly marked with a point on pin 1.

What about 2-pin chip?

Thanks in advance,

Hermine

  • Hello Hermine-

On the 2 pin DPY package, pin 1 will be designated by a line printed across the top of the IC. The line is not shown in the datasheet package drawing, however it will be there on the actual chip. Thanks for your question and feel free to ask any follow up questions!

    Thanks,
    Alec
  • Hi Alec,

When will the datasheet be updated to include the polarity marking on the 2 pin DPY package ?

The current datasheet (marked as "SLVSBO7K – DECEMBER 2012 – REVISED NOVEMBER 2016") still does not include the polarity marking for the 2 pin DPY package. This should be indicated on Page 4 (Section 5 - Pin Configuration and Functions).

    Thanks,

    Geoff
  • Geoff-

Thanks for keeping track! The most recent datasheet update was to correct a different minor issue in the datasheet; the pin polarity marking should be added within the next week or so. Until then however, just know that pin 1 on the IC is designated by a line printed on the top!

    Thanks,

    Alec

  • Hi Alec,

I can't observed the line you mentioned. It only have two character "PB" printed on top of the IC. can I use "PB" marking to determine the pin 1?

  • Hello,

There is a line on the package itself that should be above the the letters on the device. Also the marking for the TPD1E05U06 is not PB, it should be C1, C2,  C6 as said on addendum page 1 of the datasheet. Are you sure that the device you are inspecting is the TPD1E05U06?

    Regards,
