Hi,

I received the question from my customer.

Does the TPD3S714-Q1 have the result passing the surge test of ISO7637-2?

The test is p.15~16 of the attached file（section 5.6.3 (Test pulses 3a and 3b)）.

And please let me know how to pass the surge test of ISO7637-2 on the USB charger if you have information.

Kuramochi-san,

Regarding this specific ISO testing, I am not seeing any fulfillment of the ISO requirements in the datasheet. The TPD3S714-Q1 is only rated for ISO 10605, (www.iso.org/.../catalogue_detail.htm. This particular standard pertains to ESD strikes, unlike the ISO 7637 which is focused on pulse testing.

As far as how to pass this standard, my recommendation would be to try the attached test on the TPD3S714-Q1 to see if the results are sufficient. I will say that the ISO standard not being mentioned in the datasheet leads me to believe this standard was not tested for this device and therefore there is a good chance of failure while testing.

Hi Kuramochi-san,

The only devices I can find that comply with this ISO standard are automotive CAN devices. Unfortunately, I do not see any within the circuit protection devices.
