TPD4E02B04: Peak pulse power and current(tp=8/20us)

Part Number: TPD4E02B04

Hello,

My plan is to replace ESD5304 with TPD4E02B04 in my customer. It is used on the HDMI  interface.

Now my problem is  the peak power  and current  of tpd4e02b04   are lower than competitor as belows:

ESD5304:    Peak pulse power (tp=8/20us)    82W

                      Peak pulse Current (tp=8/20us)   5.5A

TPD4E02B04:   IEC61000-4-5 Power (tp=8/20us)      17W

                            IEC61000-4-5 Current  (tp=8/20us)      2A

Can you tell me the real meaning of these two parameters   ? And give me some advice to persuade my customer to use TPD4E02B04?

The datasheet of ESD5304 is as attached .

ESD5304.pdf

Thx.

  • Hello,

The IEC61000-4-5 standard is a surge pulse that is caused by overvoltages from switching and lightning transients.
The TPD4E02B04 has low capacitance which means it can handle higher speed signals, low dynamic resistance, and low maximum leakage current.
