TPD12S016: Is this the right ESD chip for SN75DP129 or SN65DP149?

Part Number: TPD12S016
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75DP129, SN65DP149, , TPD4E05U06, TPD4E02B04

Hello champs,

My customer has a question about what ESD part to pair with the SN75DP129:

"We are using a Comexpress module with display port outputs that we are planning to use for HDMI.  I see TI has a lot of hdmi parts that I think will work, but I’ve never worked on HDMI before so I was looking to see if you had any suggestions.  My current plan is to use the SN75DP129 to convert from the display port output to HDMI TMDS, and then use the TI TPD12S016PWR chip as the ESD suppression at the HDMI connector.  Is this a common pairing of parts?  It looks like the two parts duplicate a couple functions such as I2C voltage conversion."

Do you guys have a better recommendation for this application? EDIT: We are also potentially looking at the SN65DP149, but I suspect this doesn't make much difference.

Thanks,

Brian
