TPD4S012DRYR Layout

Hello there,

I am working on a design with the TPD4S012DRYR for USB ESD protection. The datasheet recommends the layout of the 6 pin DRY package be like:

However, this seems to be tough to layout without creating stubs as USB connector pin out is:

1. VBUS

2. D-

3. D+

4. ID

5. GND

I need to switch layers with through hole vias on the PCB to make sure the tracks flow nice and straight without the possibility of creating a stub.

My question is: Can I connect D- pin from the USB connector to D+ pin on the TPD4S012DRYR as internally I assume they both have exactly the same diode structure?

Please help!

Thanks,

Ganesan M.
