TPD1S514: TPD1S514-1

Part Number: TPD1S514

A concern for application is protection for USB automotive environment -  especially Cranking and load dump protection.

Can you please inform us regarding:

Is TPD1S514 -1 UL and CB listed?

What is the failure mode of the TPD1S514-1: undefined or open?

TPD1S514-1 EIC 61000-4-5 surge specification:

  • What model do TI use for the 61000-4-5 100V spec: series resistance of 42 Ohm?
  • What is the clamping voltage of Vbus_con: appropriate 35v as in datasheet fig 8?
  • In the TPD1S514 datasheet chapter 8.3.8 a 900W value is stated: is this a 8/20uSec value ?
  • What is Energy rating of the surge protection ?

  • Hi Arne,
Thanks for the question for TPD1S514, we will check and reply you soon.

    Best regards,

  • Arne,

What model do TI use for the 61000-4-5 100V spec: series resistance of 42 Ohm?

Here is a link to the TI IEC 61000-4-x Tests: www.ti.com/.../slva711.pdf

What is the clamping voltage of Vbus_con: appropriate 35v as in datasheet fig 8?

The datasheet only specifies the clamping current as a max of 30A.  The clamping voltage is not specified.

    In the TPD1S514 datasheet chapter 8.3.8 a 900W value is stated: is this a 8/20uSec value ?

See Here is a link to the TI IEC 61000-4-x Tests: www.ti.com/.../slva711.pdf

What is Energy rating of the surge protection ?

There is no mention of an energy rating in the datasheet, so I cannot state a value for this request.
